Moreover, there is a theory behind how to select a color for your house. Sometimes it gets intimidating for me as well as when I am working on any project. As to which color should I choose, how this color is going to look? How that color is going to look?

Which colors you should avoid in the living room? This is a major tip for you if you are doing a paint color selection for your living room. You should avoid bright red and bright orange color shades, I have attached an image below for your reference. The color used in the first picture is bright red, and it is overpowering the energy of the entire room. These types of colors have excessive energy which overpowers your energy as well, along with space. And believe it or not, these colors make you feel very dull and less energetic. Definitely think twice before selecting such colors for any type of living room.
But what if you are adamant about these color shades? And want to use any of them for your living room no matter what? Don’t worry you have an option.

The first step is to select the category which color shade / which color family you want to go with. Later you can explore that particular color family in depth and select color based on your choice.
For small living rooms, you should always go with light color shades. If you are using dark color shades in small rooms, it will make your room look even smaller. And this is not the case with just the living room. You can consider this point for any type of room.
Lighter color shades make your room look bigger and more spacious. Your furniture will not look bulky. Overall there will be a sense of space and functionality as it will not look compact.

You can use similar color shades if your living room is small. These colors will definitely give your room some sense of space, and you will not regret the color selection later.

If your living room is spacious and big, you can use the color palettes which we avoided for small living rooms. But there is one condition in that as well. You can use dark color shades, but that does not mean that you can apply the same shade in all four walls of your room. That will be horrifying, you will regret your color choice.

Let me tell you a bit about feature wall / accent wallFeature wall also known as accent wall can be a wall behind your main sofa peice, can be a wall where your TV unit is placed.
Use dark shades in combination with other lighter shade which belongs to the same color family, actually different family color also works, but it has to be the lighter shade.

Your living room has a natural source of sunlight way more than required? We need something that cancels out the natural daylight color. Do you have any idea which color shades we can use in such spaces? Let me tell you !
Grey color family is the best option to choose from for such living rooms. Specifically, go for earthy tones of grey. But if you are not a fan of greys, there are other options as well.

Because the lack of sunlight can turn these spaces into dull spaces. And using bright color shades can add life to the entire place. You will feel more joyful even if there is a lack of sunlight. I am not talking about BRIGHT RED AND BRIGHT ORANGE.

Now an important tip for using bright colors. As mentioned above, do not use a single color in the entire room. Use one bright color for your feature wall/accent wall in a combination with another lighter shade color.
